Richard Schnap- A Poem

BRIGHT SIGNS

I have seen
A blind dog howling
At the moon within his mind

And I have heard
A mute bird whose mate
Sings her song himself

While flowers bloom
From graves as if
Death brings a new beginning

As an autumn leaf clings
To its limb until
The blossoms of spring arrive

For the world is filled
With sudden wonders
That cannot be foreseen

Like a man who loses
His key and then finds
His door was left unlocked
