Bill Baber- A Poem

Not Quite It

“forlorn”
a strange word
that Webster’s says means
1. abandoned
2. wretched, miserable
3. without hope
although it comes close
at two- fifty on a drunken Monday morning
there has got to be a better word
to describe the way I feel.

Bill Baber's poetry has appeared at "Slow Trains," "The High Desert Journal" and "Literary Harvest" Volume 1. He has had over two dozen short stories published. A book of his poetry, "Where the Wind Comes to Play" was published by Berbereis Press in 2011. He lives in Tucson and often crosses the border for a cold beer.
